Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton are reportedly keen on signing the Atalanta hitman.
According to a report from Italian media outlet Tutto Mercato Web, Wolves and Southampton are keeping tabs on Atalanta striker Andrea Petagna, but which club would be best suited to the 22-year-old?
Standing at just under 6ft 3in tall, Petagna is a strong target man type centre-forward, and his game is based around providing a focal point from which his team can build their attacks.
Tutto Mercato Web claims that Atalanta value the forward at around £10.7 million, and in today’s day and age, that represents decent value.
Wolves have been sensational since Nuno Espirito Santo took over at Molineux in the summer of 2017, and the Portuguese arguably has them playing some of the best football in England.

Whether Petagna’s playing style would suit the Black Country outfit’s setup is debatable, however, and perhaps he would be able to slot more seamlessly into Southampton’s more direct style.
Whilst Wolves might be the more attractive option that the Saints, in the sense that many will fancy them to finish inside the top half of the Premier League table this season, from a personal perspective, the Atalanta hitman might just be better suited to Mark Hughes’ side.
Whilst Hughes does like his team to play an attractive brand of football, he has more of a flexible philosophy than Nuno, especially when playing the bigger sides, and route one football is always a possibility at St Mary’s.
This should play right into Petagna’s hands, and he would be wise to choose a switch to the south coast over a move to the Black Country this summer.
