After his impressive performance against Tottenham should Adrian replace Joe Hart when West Ham face Crystal Palace as well?

West Ham United came from 2-0 down at half-time to beat Tottenham Hotspur 3-2 at Wembley Stadium in the last-16 of the Carabao Cup.

Victory against their rivals would have been extra sweet as it was unexpected by most and it also gave some of the more fringe players in the squad the chance to impress in what has largely been a disappointing season for the club so far.

One of those was Adrian, who retained his place in goal having played the previous two games in the competition, despite the fact the Hammers were facing Premier League opposition.

The 30-year-old kept clean-sheets during wins against Cheltenham Town and then Bolton Wanderers in the previous rounds, but some believed manager Slaven Bilic would start usual first choice Joe Hart against the stiffer opposition of Spurs.

Yet Bilic stuck by the Spaniard and it proved a good decision, as although the goalkeeper conceded twice there was nothing he could do about either strike and he pulled off a great save in the first half to stop Dele Alli making it 3-0 and potentially killing off the tie.

Now the question is whether Adrian should replace Hart when West Ham return to league action against Crystal Palace this weekend?

The England international has come in for plenty of criticism since his summer loan move to the London Stadium from Manchester City, including during the 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion in their last top flight outing.

The East Londoners have conceded 17 times in their nine league games to date and while Hart is not entirely to blame, there is a legitimate argument the 30-year-old is not inspiring the defence in front of him with confidence and a change is needed.
