Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after witnessing George Baldock’s horrendous challenge on Tyler Roberts during the 2-1 win over Sheffield United.
The Blades No.2 lunged in on the Welshman, leaving him in a heap on the ground, before actually coming off worse.
Baldock looked quite groggy after the incident, before he was withdrawn at half-time in place of Ethan Ampadu.
However, despite his injury, he arguably should’ve seen red before Paul Heckingbottom substituted him at half-time.
As you can see by the photos used in this article, both of Baldock’s feet left the ground, so VAR – at the very least – should’ve checked for a potential red card.
To Roberts’ credit, he didn’t make a meal of it, and got straight back up.

Regardless, he shouldn’t have to make a meal of it for the referee to notice how dangerous Baldock’s challenge was.
If Roberts didn’t jump, it’s very likely that something serious would’ve happen should his studs have been planted in the turf.
Thankfully, the Leeds No.11 was alright to continue, but it was definitely a potential leg breaker from the Sheffield United full-back.

No wonder the Leeds fans on Twitter were up in arms about it.
Let’s see what they’ve been saying about the 31st minute incident…
