Michael Owen has stated that Hugo Lloris was ‘at fault’ for both of the goals Tottenham conceded against Wolves on Sunday, as he told Premier League Productions (13/02/22 at 3 pm).

The former striker added that his pass leading to the second Wolves goal was ‘shocking’ by Tottenham’s number one.

It was another afternoon to forget for those in the capital, as Antonio Conte lost his third Premier League game on the bounce.

Just like in midweek, Conte’s side have been all over the shop from a defensive aspect and it didn’t get any better against Wolves.

When analysing the goals Spurs conceded yesterday, Owen made it clear that there was only one man to blame.

“Lloris was at fault for both goals, for me,” said Owen. “Could he have caught the first one? Maybe.

“Could he have caught the second one? Definitely. And then a shocking pass for the second goal.”

All of this just makes life tougher for Spurs and their quest to secure Champions League football at the end of the campaign.

In truth, judging by their performances this season, they don’t deserve that final fourth spot.

These recent defeats have been even more costly because West Ham and Man United have dropped points lately, yet those in north London haven’t capitalised on that.

Now Wolves have overtaken them in the table and, never mind the Champions League, it might not even be Europa League football for Spurs.
