Harry Kane has fired Tottenham Hotspur in a lead this evening.
Spurs were given a difficult visit to Brighton & Hove Albion today but the reliable Lilywhites hitman put the visitors ahead midway through the first half.
However, it had been quite a sluggish performance from the Tottenham striker up until that point, albeit it was still relatively early.
And earlier in the half, he wasted an excellent chance to feed the overlapping Ryan Sessegnon but Kane got the final pass all wrong.
Here’s what Lee Dixon said live on NBC Sport: “Shocking pass from Harry Kane. The actual position he takes up, he’s in a position to snap, turn around and run straight at the Brighton defence.”

Despite fluffing that opportunity, Kane made amends and thensome, as he often does.
It really was a wonderful flick from the 29-year-old attacker to convert a Son Heung-min cross that probably no other forward around would’ve turned into a goal – well, perhaps Erling Haaland.
That being said, the Seagulls have responded excellently to going behind and they tested Hugo Lloris a lot more regularly than they had done prior to Antonio Conte’s side going ahead.
Albion finished the half well on top and it promises to be a fascinating second half but, as Kane demonstrated, he can influence this game at any given moment and that’s what the hosts will be wary of.
