John Aldridge has strongly criticised Everton forward Richarlison on Twitter for his challenge on Thiago Alcantara.
The former Liverpool striker was not pleased with Richarlison making a late challenge on Liverpool midfielder Thiago.
The 23-year-old Brazil international forward – who cost the Toffees an initial £35 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Watford in the summer of 2018, as reported by BBC Sport – was dismissed on 90 minutes for a foul on Thiago, as the match ended in a 2-2 draw.
Aldridge believes that the tackle from the Everton star was “shocking”, and thinks that it was career-ending.
Controversial Merseyside derby
Saturday’s game was quite controversial, but it was a very interesting Merseyside derby and ended in a 2-2 draw.
Jordan Pickford’s early challenge on Virgil van Dijk saw the Liverpool central defender get injured and substituted.
Jordan Henderson had a goal deep into injury time ruled out, and one suspects that the Reds’ fans will not be pleased about that.
Liverpool’s next Premier League game is against Sheffield United at Anfield on October 24.
