Garth Crooks has said on BBC Sport that he was wrong to think that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte will not use Davinson Sanchez again.
The former Tottenham Hotspur forward has included Sanchez in his Premier League Team of the Week for BBC Sport.
The 25-year-old central defender scored for Tottenham in their 3-0 win against Norwich City at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday.
BBC Sport pundit Crooks was impressed by the £65,000-a-week Colombia international central defender (Spotrac) in the Premier League.
Praise for Tottenham defender Davinson Sanchez
Crooks wrote on BBC Sport: “I saw this lad have a shocker in Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat in Slovenia in the Europa Conference League.
“At the time I thought that Antonio Conte wouldn’t play the defender again in anything remotely resembling a serious fixture.
“However the player returned for the match against Norwich (not the most demanding game) and not only played his part in a defensive unit that kept a valuable clean sheet, but scored the goal that put the game well beyond the Canaries.”

Getting chances
Sanchez has not always impressed for Tottenham since he moved from Ajax.
However, Antonio Conte has only just arrived at Spurs, and clearly the former Chelsea boss is willing to give chances to his players.
Sanchez did well for Spurs against Norwich and helped the North London club keep a valuable clean sheet.
Moreover, Cristian Romero is injured now.
So, in our opinion, Sanchez will get chances at the back in the coming weeks.
We expect the 25-year-old to take those chances and impress.
Just like he did against Norwich.
