David Martin signed for West Ham United on Monday.

David Martin has told West Ham United’s official website that he’s relishing the chance to test himself against Lukasz Fabianski.
West Ham announced the shock capture of Martin on Monday following the expiration of his Millwall contract.
The 33-year-old keeper joined the Irons on a two-year deal, three days after another goalkeeper of the same age – Roberto – signed for the East London club.
Both of them have the unenviable task of displacing Fabianski, who was the Hammers’ Player of the Year for a brilliant first season with the club last term.
Despite acknowledging that Fabianski is among the Premier League’s finest shot stoppers, Martin, son of club legend Alvin, can’t wait to compete with the former Arsenal man.
“It goes without saying how good Lukasz is,” he told West Ham United’s official website.
“He’s proven himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the Premier League last season, so to go up against them and try to improve will be great.”
You can’t fault Martin’s enthusiasm, but there’s every chance that he’ll be Manuel Pellegrini’s third-choice keeper next term.
If Pellegrini prefers Roberto over him then it’ll be a long first season with his boyhood club for Martin.
The former England Under-19 international spent two years with the Irons’ bitter rivals Millwall, but only made 11 Championship appearances.
