Paris Saint-Germain are set to hijack Dani Alves’ move to Manchester City – which will no doubt see the Premier League side step up pursuit of Tottenham’s Kyle Walker.

Tottenham Hotspur could come under increased pressure from Manchester City for defender Kyle Walker after complications regarding the future of another right-back.

City had been strong favourites to sign Brazilian defender Dani Alves, but now French newspaper L’Equipe report Paris Saint-Germain have made a move to hijack the deal.

PSG are reportedly hopeful they will be successful, with Alves considering both offers.

The Independent reported Manchester City have been in discussions with Spurs over signing Kyle Walker since last week, so far without resolution.

If they miss out on Dani Alves then their need to sign Walker will be far greater, and could see their efforts intensify.

While Tottenham are open to letting Walker go at the right price, The Mirror report, the fear is that it is a controversial decision which could spark a slow break up of a successful side over the next few seasons.

Walker could land a big wage increase if he moves to City, but it is uncertain whether they would have a need to invest in both the Tottenham man and Alves.

City will likely wait on Alves’ decision before following up on Kyle Walker. If they miss out on the Brazil international to PSG then the Tottenham defender becomes a much clearer priority.
