Khamzat Chimaev returned to action with a quick win over Dillon Danis, but things took a turn for the worse right after.
The former UFC middleweight champion claimed a tech fall victory just 50 seconds in. But when Danis held on to the position after the whistle, Chimaev kicked out, and things escalated from there.
Teammates from both sides rushed onto the mat, creating chaos, although the referee managed to keep Chimaev under control long enough to officially award him the win. The match result followed closely on the heels of Arman Tsarukyan’s win over Tony Ferguson.

As expected, there was a lot of tension between the two fighters. Dillon Danis and Khamzat Chimaev had already been involved in an altercation on the street before their match, and things escalated once they faced each other on the mat.
Danis quickly gave up his position, allowing Chimaev to secure a tech fall victory within just 44 seconds. Still, after the win was clear, Danis held onto a submission hold long past when he should have let go.
Chimaev didn’t take it well and kicked out at Danis. The referee intervened as both teams rushed onto the mat to join the scuffle.
Punches were thrown before things started to calm down. Despite the chaos, order was eventually restored, and Chimaev’s win was confirmed.
