Arsenal are currently second in the table after eight games.
Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has urged them not to get ahead of themselves with dreams of the title while speaking to the club’s official website.
The Gunners continued their fine form on Saturday afternoon as they beat Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium.
The 3-2 win made it six consecutive victories in the Premier League for Arsene Wenger’s team and took them level with Manchester City at the top of the table.
There is widespread hope around the club, with fans believing this season could be one in which they seriously challenge for the title.
It is still early days, though, and Mustafi has urged them not to get ahead of themselves just yet.
“I think there’s no point in thinking too far ahead,” he told the club’s official website.
“We just need to think day after day and game after game. We’re going to have a tough game on Wednesday as well, so we have to be prepared for that game.
“Sometimes when you think too far in the future, you forget about the present and then you lose points. That’s what we don’t want to do.”
Mustafi is certainly wise to warn Arsenal about thinking to far ahead, especially after last season.
The Gunners started that campaign strongly too and were leading the Premier League table by the turn of the year.
That also sparked hopes that they would be champions come the end of the season.
However, they ended up finishing ten points behind eventual champions Leicester City and they would be wise to remember that before thinking too far ahead this year.
