The Gunners drew 1-1 with Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.

Shkodran Mustafi has told Arsenal’s official website that their draw with Paris Saint-Germain must be considered a good result.

The Gunners travelled to the Parc des Princes on Tuesday for their first game of the Champions League group stages.

Things got off to the worst possible start for them as an Edinson Cavani header inside the first minute handed the French champions an early lead.

Arsene Wenger’s side eventually fought back to earn a point as Alexis Sanchez bagged an equaliser late on.

In reality, they were lucky to escape with that result, though, as Cavani missed a number of chances to put the result beyond doubt.

And Mustafi says he thinks the eventual 1-1 draw should be considered as a good result.

“I think a 1-1 draw has to be considered a good result, but I think we started the game a little sloppy,” he told the club’s official website.

“In the end when we came out in the second half we had more of the game. I think, in the end, we were unlucky to not take the three points.”

It now remains to be seen whether the draw in Paris does transpire to be a good result for Arsenal.

A point away from home against their main rivals in the group is not to be turned down and something they arguably would have taken before the game.

If they can win the other games in the group, it means that their hopes of finishing in first place are firmly in their hands, which is an ideal situation in reality.
