The Arsenal man spent three years at Everton until his release in 2012.
Speaking to Arsenal TV, centre-back Shkodran Mustafi has described his time at Everton as the most “frustrating” period of his senior career.
The 25-year-old returned to English football last summer by joining Arsenal in a £35 million deal from Valencia.

The Germany international, a World Cup winner in 2014, was released by Everton in 2012 after making just one senior appearance in three seasons on Merseyside.
And the defender, whose sole appearance for the Toffees came as a 17-year-old in 2009, admitted that his failed stint at Goodison Park almost made him not want to come back to English football.
“To be honest at the beginning I thought I was done with England because it was really frustrating and probably the worst time I had as a footballer,” he told Arsenal Player.
“I didn’t want to go there again but then when it came down to making a decision to stay or leave, I thought I would only leave Valencia if I had the opportunity to go to England.”
It has worked out well for the German since leaving, it has to be said.
After Everton, Mustafi was snapped up by Sampdoria, impressing in a 50-match stint for the Serie A side over two years which earned him a move to Valencia in 2014.
