Germany’s Shkodran Mustafi reacts after missing a chance to score
New Arsenal signing Shkodran Mustafi has told the club’s official website that the chance to grow as a player is what excites him most about his move to the club.
The defender completed his move to Emirates on Tuesday in a big money move from Valencia.
The Gunners are arguably the biggest club he has played for in his career, despite Los Che being one of the big club’s in Spain.

His return to England marks the latest step forward in a rapid rise to the top for the German, and he says the most exciting aspect of joining the Gunners was his chance to progress.
“I think coming here I’ve made a step forward, because Arsenal is a big club with big players and a great manager,” he told the club’s official website.
“For me I think the most important thing was if I made a change, could I learn something? Was it going to be good for my development? I think that being here now is going to help me grow as a player.”
Arsenal’s Laurent Koscielny applauds the fans at the end of the match
If Mustafi is to be a success at Arsenal and take the next step in his development, establishing a partnership with Laurent Koscielny will be key.
The Frenchman is very much first choice at the club, with some even rating him among the best defenders in the Premier League.
Given the money they have paid for him, Mustafi is likely to be his partner moving forward and the duo developing a strong relationship as quickly as possible will be key to the club and the German developing.
