Arsenal thumped 10-man Hull City 4-1 on Saturday afternoon.
Arsenal picked up their third successive Premier League win on Saturday by winning 4-1 at newly-promoted Hull City.
Alex Iwobi’s goal-bound effort clipped Alexis Sanchez for a 17th-minute opener which has been credited to the Chilean, who went from hero to villain before half time.
Sanchez saw his penalty on 41 minutes saved by Hull’s goalkeeper after Jake Livermore was red carded for an apparent deliberate handball inside the box.
Against 10 men, Theo Walcott doubled Arsenal’s lead early in the second half, but Robert Snodgrass halved the deficit from the penalty spot with 10 minutes to go to give the hosts something of a lifeline.
It proved a false dawn as Sanchez bagged his double to more or less seal the win, before Granit Xhaka, the Gunners’ £35 million signing in the summer, made absolutely sure with a fine long-range strike in the closing stages.
Shkodran Mustafi, Mesut Ozil and Hector Bellerin all reacted positively to the victory on Twitter afterwards; a win that saw Arsenal move five points behind top-of-the-table Manchester City in third spot.
