Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly wanted Wolverhampton Wanderers duo Conor Coady and Matt Doherty in the January transfer window.
Conor Coady and Matt Doherty are two important players for Wolverhampton Wanderers, and there was no surprise when it emerged in the media that Tottenham Hotspur, Arsenal and Liverpool were looking at the two defenders.
In January, The Irish Independent reported that Tottenham were monitoring 27-year-old Doherty, who can operate as a right-back or as a left-back.
Also in January, The Daily Mail claimed that Arsenal and Liverpool were looking at 25-year-old defender Coady.
Given how important the two defenders are to Wolves and how the Wanderers are doing this season, it was always unlikely that the Premier League club were going to part company with them, and now it appears that Liverpool and Tottenham are going to find it tough to sign him in the summer of 2019.
That’s because both Coady and Doherty have signed new contracts with Wolves and will stay at the Molineux Stadium until 2023, as announced on the Wanderers’ official website.
Of course, anything is possible in the transfer market, but the boat may have sailed on Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool signing Coady and Doherty.
