Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-min will be an important player for South Korea at the 2018 World Cup finals in Russia in the summer.

Son is playing pretty regularly for Tottenham at the moment and has established himself as a key player in Mauricio Pochettino’s team.
The 25-year-old South Korea international, who can operate as a winger or as a forward, has scored 12 goals and provided four assists in22 Premier League starts for Spurs so far this season.
The attacker, who joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2015 for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £22 million, will be a key player for South Korea at the World Cup.

South Korea head coach Shin, though, has admitted that he is worried about fatigue for Son.
“I hope Son can perform in the World Cup like he currently does for his club, but I’m concerned that Son’s red-hot form could cool down around the World Cup period,” Shin told ESPN.
“No player can maintain his best form all season long. I’m really worried that Son’s form might go down from May, with his concentration waning and him becoming physically fatigued.”

Concern
While it would be good for South Korea if Son gets a breather, the fact is that if he continues to play regularly and continues to play well, then it is only going to help them in Russia.
After all, an in-form Son is going tone hugely beneficial to South Korea in their 2018 World Cup quest.
