Ibrox side Rangers managed to pick up a win at the weekend, while Celtic drew 1-1.
The Rangers squad were aware of Celtic’s result before they took on Aberdeen, and realised that an opportunity to close the gap at the top of the Scottish Premiership had presented itself.
However, Ojo says that the reaction to the defeat in the Rangers camp was a calm one.
Rangers were determined not to celebrate too early, and Ojo claims the Light Blues players quickly turned their attention back on the task at hand after hearing Celtic’s result.
“I stand by what I said [that Rangers are the best team in Scotland] and I think Rangers are in a good run of form. We are doing really well so far this season and we are looking hungry,” he said.
“Any team that looks hungry and is getting wins, it can only be positive.
“Of course, we have to give Celtic respect but, from my own opinion, I believe we can have a really successful season.
“We weren’t really thinking about Celtic and the Hibs game, we just focused on ourselves and got the job done. We saw the result but as long as we keep focusing on ourselves then everything will take care of itself.”
Rangers’ response to the Celtic result was wise, as the last thing that they needed was to lose their heads and miss the chance.
Rangers certainly did what they needed to following Celtic’s draw, as they ramped up the pressure on Neil Lennon’s side.
Rangers ran out 5-0 winners over Aberdeen, in what was one of their most impressive victories of the season.
Rangers are now just one point behind Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table with their next league match coming against Hamilton.
