Rangers Sheyi Ojo will be hoping to replicate the form his Liverpool teammate Ryan Kent produced at Ibrox last season.
Rangers summer signing Sheyi Ojo has admitted that he wants to tear up the Scottish Premiership with fellow Liverpool academy product Ryan Kent.
Winger Kent was on-loan at Ibrox last season and the 22-year-old worked wonders under the stewardship of manager Steven Gerrard.
It remains to be seen whether Kent will return to Glasgow this summer, but his Anfield teammate, Ojo has already made the switch up north.
Ojo spoke highly about Kent and how he made a name for himself at Rangers last term, as he expressed a desire for him to return.
“I know Ryan well as I came through the academy at Liverpool with him,” Ojo told the Evening Times. “I think we are similar types of characters and we have had similar loan spells.
“Every football just needs that opportunity to feel loved and Ryan showed that last season when he had the backing of the manager. He had a great season and became a fan’s favourite.
“I can’t control any of that [transfer] stuff but if he came then it would be just like in the academy. And hopefully, we can be tearing up the league for Rangers.”
In May, the Scottish Sun reported that newly-promoted Premier League side Aston Villa were joining the £10 million race for Kent’s signature.
Despite that interest, Kent is still a Liverpool player, at this moment in time, and it surely bodes well for Rangers and their chances of signing him up again this summer.
If they can get a deal over the line then it would increase the Gers’ chances of ending Celtic’s nine-in-a-row charge.
