The Rangers winger’s weekend declarations made headlines.

Steven Gerrard’s side have plenty of reasons to feel confident heading into the new season. They’ve had a strong pre-season, made some signings that improve the starting eleven and have had no slip-ups in Europe.
Ojo is clearly feeling a high having made the loan switch from Liverpool, perhaps excited about getting first-team football and playing in front of a passionate support on a weekly basis.
The 22-year-old is now looking for his team to lift the league title come the end of the season, believing they are already better than Celtic.
As quoted by The Daily Record, Ojo said: “Towards the end of last season I watched some of the Scottish Premiership games and I’m really looking forward to it. I think Rangers are the best team in the league. It’s just about proving that we’re the best team and doing really well this season.”
That bullish confidence is no doubt going to be helpful for Rangers, in the early stages of the season at least. A team playing like they have things to prove can be something to behold.
Ojo, and likely much of the dressing room at Ibrox who share a similar opinion, are well within their rights to back themselves.
The real hard work has yet to start though and just a week out from the Scottish Premiership kicking off, it’s not the right time to be making declarations about being the best team in country and being better than the reigning champions.
Players at Rangers, including Ojo, must heed the advice of Gerrard.

The Liverpool loanee would go on to tell The Daily Record: “The gaffer has told us just to focus on ourselves. The difference last season was nine points which proved we’re pretty close to Celtic. It’s just about concentrating on us and then we’ll be able to make up those fine margins.”
Focusing on Rangers only is unlikely to mean measuring themselves against Celtic in the media before the league action even begins.
A run of impressive results home and away will say a lot more about Rangers’ title chances than anything any player can tell the media.
Ojo and the Gers must have belief but they also must do their talking on the pitch, else pressure mounts and focus is taken off what they want to achieve.
Can the winger back up his words with a big performance away to Kilmarnock on Sunday?
