Tim Sherwood has said on Sky Sports News (1:13pm, November 20, 2021) that Tottenham Hotspur head coach Antonio Conte has a number 10 in Dele Alli.
The former Tottenham manager has said that he hopes that Alli has shown Conte in training over the international break that he can star for him.
Sherwood said: “I think he will go with two upfront, Harry Kane and Son. I think that’s what he likes.
“He needs to find a number 10. He has got one there, someone who was left behind in the international break.
“Dele Alli. Hopefully Dele has rolled up his sleeves and performed in training and showed Conte what he can do.”

Dele Alli could be Christian Eriksen’s replacement
Christian Eriksen was superb for Spurs.
Since the Denmark international left for Inter Milan in 2020, Spurs have struggled to create chances.
Yes, Jose Mourinho and Nuno are not exactly attack-minded managers.
But, in our view, a player like Eriksen would have made Spurs better and more creative.

However, as Sherwood notes, Alli could play as the number 10.
The England international could replace Eriksen as the creator-in-chief at Spurs.
One of the big reasons why Harry Kane is not scoring in the Premier League is lack of chances.
Now, we know how good Alli is.
The Tottenham no. 20 scored 18 goals and gave seven assists in the Premier League in 2016-17.
Alli scored nine goals and gave 10 assists in the league in 2017-18.
