Tim Sherwood praised Tottenham trio Lucas Moura, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Hugo Lloris for their performances on Sunday, as he told Optus Sport on Premier League Productions.
After Tottenham crashed out of Europe on Thursday and Lloris made his feelings clear towards the dressing room, Sherwood insisted that he simply ‘couldn’t make a mistake’ at Villa Park…and he didn’t!
Whilst the first half an hour was a bit nervy for Spurs, as the game wore on, they became better and started to hurt a Jack Grealish-less Villa side.
And Sherwood was impressed with how Tottenham reacted from their disastrous result on Thursday.
“Moura stepped up,” said Sherwood. “Moura was excellent today. Hojbjerg was fantastic.
“Lloris never made a mistake. He couldn’t make a mistake. After what he said in midweek when he came out and criticised his teammates. You put yourself under pressure to perform well and he did.
“So, right through the spine they were very, very strong tonight.”

Lloris may have kept a clean sheet at Villa Park, but Spurs fans are well aware that the £12m shot-stopper (BBC Sport) is prone to a mistake.
The Frenchman better hope that another mistake doesn’t occur before the season ends because many people will be quick to recycle his message after that collapse in Croatia.
But it seems as though Lloris’ harsh words, and those of Mourinho’s, worked wonders yesterday as they picked up a deserved three points.
