Tim Sherwood has said that Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of winning the League Cup final simply rest on whether Harry Kane will play or not, when speaking on the Kelly and Wrighty Show, which was broadcast by Optus Sport.
Kane is a doubt for the final, with Ryan Mason saying he hasn’t been in training with his teammates.
The striker limped off in Spurs’ last match against Everton, leading to concerns that he won’t be fit to start against Manchester City.
And Sherwood has suggested that if Kane isn’t in Tottenham’s starting line-up then they will have no chance at Wembley.
“I don’t think it rests on who is in the dugout. I think it rests on whether Harry Kane is fit,” he said. “If there’s no Harry Kane they won’t win that game in my opinion, it will be very difficult. If Harry Kane is fit I always give them a chance.”
Tottenham actually did manage to win without Kane on Wednesday evening, when they beat Southampton in Ryan Mason’s first game in charge.
However, toppling City in a cup final will be a much harder challenge.

Without Kane, Tottenham’s attack has previously looked rather blunt, as they struggle to find a focal point.
And Spurs will be desperate for the England captain to make it back, as they chase their first piece of silverware since 2008.
