Tim Sherwood has said on Premier League Productions that only Pep Guardiola could persuade Harry Kane to stay at Tottenham Hotspur.
Sherwood has said that if Tottenham were to appoint Guardiola as their new manager, then Kane might decide to continue at Spurs.
The former Spurs boss has added that Tottenham are not going to be able to appoint City manager Guardiola.
Sky Sports reported this month that Kane has told Spurs that he wants to leave.
City are among the clubs reportedly interested in the 27-year-old, who himself told former Manchester United defender Gary Neville on The Overlap that he would love to play with Kevin De Bruyne.
Sherwood said on Premier League Productions: “I am not sure there is a manager in world football if they employ – possibly one, if they decide to (bring) Pep Guardiola, which is not going to happen, to Tottenham, it might persuade Harry Kane to stay.
“Other than Pep Guardiola, it doesn’t matter who they bring in, he has made his decision, he wants to leave the football club.”
Guardiola is not going to leave City for Tottenham anytime soon, but Kane’s reported decision to quit Spurs does seem final.

After all, you do not publicly come out and say to the media or during an extensive interview with Sky Sports pundit Neville on The Overlap that you want to hold talks your club’s chairman.
That’s exactly what Kane did, and it is hard to see how his mind could be changed now.
It is now up to Tottenham and chairman Daniel Levy.
Levy reportedly wants £150 million for Kane. It is a lot of money, but City are a wealthy club and can afford it.
