Sasso is out of contract at Sheffield Wednesday this summer.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Vincent Sasso
Sheffield Wednesday defender Vincent Sasso hopes to know more about his long-term future at Hillsborough after the upcoming international break.
The Frenchman returned to Wednesday from Braga in August, following a year on loan to the Owls.
His current deal runs out at the end of the campaign, however, and though Wednesday have the option to extend it by a further 12 months, Sasso is yet to commence talks with the club.
“We will see (about his contract) after the international break,” Sasso told the Sheffield Star. “It is, of course, easier if you know what your future is going to be but I don’t mind to be honest.
“I’m enjoying playing at the moment. I’m focused on that and let’s see what the future brings.”
Sasso is enjoying his longest ever run in Carlos Carvalhal’s team, starting each of Wednesday’s last seven matches in Tom Lees’ absence.
Of those, the Owls have won five and lost two, with Sasso scoring his first goals for the club in last month’s 2-1 win against Blackburn Rovers.

That said, the 26-year-old has made notable errors against Nottingham Forest and Leeds United in that time, leaving the Wednesday fanbase divided over his future.
Carvalhal has previously admitted failing to land a ‘top centre-half’ last summer (Sheffield Star), and is likely to revisit the situation during the closed-season regardless of which division the Owls are in, which could see Sasso demoted to fourth-choice if he’s kept on.
