Sitting in 14th place after eight games, should Carlos Carvalhal’s men be dissapointed with the start made? The Play-Off finalists have failed to continue their work from last term into this season and have struggled with consistency, however a few positive results could change all that.
Nottingham Forest (H)
Two sides with identical records, both Wednesday and Nottingham Forest sit on eleven points after eight games but with home advantage Carlos Carvalhal will no doubt want to make the most of it and get maximum points.
Forest were in EFL Cup action during the week against Arsenal playing a near on full strength side while Wednesday had a full week to prepare.
The Owls come into the game on the back of a 2-1 defeat to Birmingham City where two late goals from Clayton Donaldson and Lukas Jutkiewicz turned the game around.
No doubt Carvalhal has aspirations of taking Wednesday up to the Premier League and he will not want his side to keep stalling before they leave themselves a mountain to climb.

Blackburn Rovers (A)
Despite sitting in the relegation zone, Blackburn Rovers are certainly a side who are a work in progress and they’ll be doing they’re best to get themselves out of the predicament they find themselves in.
For Wednesday it will be a game that they will be expected to win, the last time The Owls won at Ewood Park was in October 2012, with two draws and a defeat since so Carvalhal will want to change their recent record.

The first time these two sides would’ve met since their Championship Play-Off semi-final where Wednesday defeated Brighton over two legs but this game will be a perfect insight as to whether they can replicate their form of last campaign.
Chris Hughton’s Brighton will no doubt be in and around the play-off places once more so it will be a stern test at Hillsborough for Wednesday. It will be the type of game that will change the mood around the changing room after an inconsistent start to the campaign, and victories against promotion rivals will breed confidence and instil belief that they can go again this season and compete.
