The pair were rivals at Sheffield Wednesday and Sheffield United last season.

The former Sheffield United midfielder, David Brooks, has been congratulated on his latest Bournemouth player of the month award by a Sheffield Wednesday defender.
Brooks, for whom Bournemouth paid Sheffield United an £11.5 million fee last summer [Sky Sports], has claimed the accolade on three of a possible six occasions since his arrival.
And Jordan Thorniley, the Sheffield Wednesday player and a close childhood friend of the Welshman, sent him the following message on Twitter.
A tweet sent to Brooks after last season’s Sheffield Derby at Hillsborough landed Thorniley in hot water with some Wednesday supporters, causing the former Everton academy player to temporarily close his account.
But Thorniley has since gone on to establish himself as a first-team regular for the Owls, where his no-nonsense approach has proved popular with the club’s fans.

Brooks, who like the 22-year-old moved to Yorkshire after his release by a Premier League club, in his case Manchester City, has scored six goals and set up four in 22 top-flight games this season.
Can the Sheffield Wednesday defender follow his former Sheffield United rival into the Premier League?
