The Owls right-back has not enjoyed the best of weeks.
Speaking to the Sheffield Star, Jack Hunt has described Sheffield Wednesday’s performance against Leeds United as terrible and was left frustrated by his own display.
The Owls initially looked to have picked up where they left off last season, picking up four points from tough-looking fixtures against Aston Villa and Norwich City.
However, back-to-back defeats against Burton Albion and Leeds have called Carlos Carvalhal’s side’s credentials into question.
Hunt has received his fair share of the criticism, having been involved in all three of Burton’s goals at the Pirelli Stadium and withdrawn in Saturday’s Yorkshire derby. However, the right-back has been quick to hold his hands up.
“I was very frustrated with my own performance (against Leeds),” Hunt told the Star. “I thought I didn’t really get into the game.
“When you are don’t perform as an individual, you want to go again straight away and put things right.”
As for the team, Hunt said: “We were terrible; individually and collectively we weren’t good enough. We can’t shy away from that.
“We have got to stand up and go toe to toe with the opposition. We know we have got to do better.”
Hunt, to his credit, is no stranger to owning up to poor displays, having taken to Twitter back in April following a defensive error which led to a goal for Blackburn Rovers.
However, the 25-year-old will know his honesty may not keep him his place, with Liam Palmer and Marnick Vermijl ready to step in against Brentford this weekend.
