Forestieri has only played two league games for Sheffield Wednesday this season.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Fernando Forestieri has posted a video on Twitter in which he is shown jogging for the first time since he underwent knee surgery in September.
Forestieri, who has finished top scorer in each of his two full campaigns at Wednesday, has been desperately missed by the Owls, who have slid down to 14th in the Championship.
Head coach Carlos Carvalhal – whose job is under threat if Wednesday fail to impress against Wolves this weekend, according to the Sun – revealed at the end of last month that Forestieri had started running ‘every other day’, adding that he was hopeful of having the Argentina-born forward back in action before the end of January.
And his recovery, it seems, is going well.
Forestieri, who appears to have travelled from Madrid to Rome on Tuesday, posted:
Carvalhal previously aired his concern that Forestieri could miss between six and eight months following surgery, after an initial prognosis of three months, minimum, was given.
Wednesday, who have also made the play-offs two years running with the help of Forestieri, have won only six of their 21 league matches this campaign.
