The Sheffield Wednesday pair helped the Owls to their first league clean sheet of the season on Friday.

It’s not been the best of weeks for those tasked with keeping goals out of the Sheffield Wednesday net.
But few have arguably had it as rough as Cameron Dawson and Tom Lees, the Owls’ goalkeeper and centre-back respectively.
Against Norwich City at the start of this month, Dawson, along with his family, endured chants of ‘one Keiren Westwood’ – the experienced goalkeeper currently omitted from Sheffield Wednesday’s squad – from some of those supposed to be cheering on, while Lees was dropped for the trip to Queens Park Rangers late last month after a goal-assisting error in his previous outing as captain.
But the pair gave arguably their best displays of the season as Wednesday held city rivals Sheffield United to a 0-0 draw at Bramall Lane, with the former grabbing the headlines after saving David McGoldrick’s first-half penalty.

Indeed, it was Dawson (8.21) who earned the highest WhoScored average rating of any player involved in the Steel City derby, with Blades pair Oliver Norwood (8) and Chris Basham (7.98) next, above Lees (7.85), who made most clearances (8) and second most tackles (3, after teammate Michael Hector).

But while Norwood’s score was not enough to earn himself a place in the website’s team of the week, Basham did make it in alongside the Sheffield Wednesday duo.
