Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Barry Bannan has mocked Steven Gerrard’s Rangers on social networking site Twitter following the Old Firm derby against Celtic.
Celtic got the better of Rangers 1-0 at Celtic Park in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday afternoon.
Olivier Ntcham’s goal on 62 minutes proved to be the difference between the Hoops and Rangers in Glasgow.
Wednesday midfielder Bannan was following the match, and the former Aston Villa and Crystal Palace midfielder has taken a dig at Rangers on Twitter after the final result.
The 28-year-old Scotland international is a Celtic fan, as he told Herald Scotland back in March 2009.
Meanwhile, former Celtic striker Chris Sutton has pointed out an interesting stat about Rangers on Twitter.
Celtic were the better team over the course of the 90 minutes, and Brendan Rodgers’s side could have scored more goals against Rangers.
Rangers, though, should not get too disappointed, as some of their football was encouraging.
Manager Gerrard now needs to regroup his players and put together a run of positive results after the two-week international break.
