Sheffield Wednesday star Adam Reach has suggested to The Star that Aston Villa ace John McGinn’s goal was better than his against Leeds United last Friday evening.

Wondergoals

Reach – who can operate as a left-back or as a left-winger – scored a brilliant goal for Wednesday in their 1-1 draw with Yorkshire rivals Leeds at the Hillsborough Stadium in the Championship on Friday evening.

The 25-year-old – who has been on the books of the Owls since the summer of 2016 when he joined from Middlesbrough for a transfer fee reported by The Star to be worth £5 million – found the target on the stroke of half time.

McGinn also scored a brilliant goal in September, as the former Hibernian midfielder found the target in Villa’s 2-1 defeat to Wednesday at Villa Park in the Championship.

Goal of the month

Wednesday ace Reach has admitted that the 23-year-old Villa midfielder will win the Goal of the Month award for his strike against the Owls.

Reach told The Star on whether his strike will win the Goal of the Month award: “I don’t think mine will get it. The Villa goal by McGinn was really special, especially the technique he used.”
