Sheffield Wednesday are the latest club to be linked with Hull City’s exit-bound wing-back.

Sheffield Wednesday could soon find out the hard way what it’s like to lose a coveted youngster for a fraction of his true market value, with Owls pair George Hirst and Sean Clare expected to be lured away from Hillsborough at the end of their contracts.
Having failed to agree extensions with the duo – who are said to be interesting Everton, as well as a string of other clubs – Wednesday will be powerless to keep them, and could even see their compensation pay-out taken out of their hands at tribunal hearings.
Under normal circumstances, the Owls would be looking at fees of well into seven figures for both Hirst and Clare, although anything above six would be a pleasant surprise now.

Nonetheless, Sheffield Wednesday could yet make up for those expected losses by turning the tables to sign one of their rivals’ out of contract youngsters. And, according to the Hull Daily Mail, Jos Luhukay’s side are looking to do exactly that with Max Clark, the Hull City left wing-back.
The Tigers are said to want £1 million for Clark, who has played considerably more Championship football than either Hirst or Clare. And although they are far from guaranteed to get it, it is an amount the Owls could almost certainly raise by selling the aforementioned pair.
And while the 22-year-old would not be a direct replacement for either player, his is a position which is arguably in greater need of strengthening than central midfield or centre forward.
Although, it is perhaps worth pointing out that while Hull are resigned to losing Clark, according to the HDM, Wednesday could face a battle with Nottingham Forest and Vitesse Arnhem to sign him.
