Owls star Adam Reach spoke to reporters after his side’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Barnsley on Saturday, and discussed the possibility of a final day showdown with Fulham at Hillsborough that could determine who finishes inside the play-off spots, as quoted by the Yorkshire Post.

Wednesday have really struggled ins event weeks, winning just one of their last seven Championship outings – a run that has put their chances of finishing inside the top six in serious jeopardy.

But the 24-year-old told reporters how he is confident in his side’s ability to climb back inside the play-off places, whilst admitting the race could very well go down to the last day, as quoted by the Yorkshire Post:

“There is every chance. If we play anywhere near our best, I think we pick up more points than Fulham. Hopefully, we will already be in the play-offs on the last day and they cannot catch us. But, if it does come down to that at Hillsborough with a full house and a great atmosphere, I think we’ll have the edge.”

Reach signed for the South Yorkshire outfit from Preston North-End on transfer deadline day last summer, and has since gone on to become an important member of Carlos Carvalhal’s side.

His versatility has proven to be invaluable to Wednesday, and they will need him to be at his very best over the next month or so, if they are to have any chance of gaining promotion to the Premier League.
