Sheffield Wednesday have been long-term admirers of Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ben Marshall.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ben Marshall said to the Lancashire Telegraph back in 2015, that he was flattered by Sheffield Wednesday’s interest, and it may be time for the Owls to renew their attempts to sign the 26-year-old.

Marshall has moved to Wolverhampton Wanderers now, and it is said by the Express and Star that he could be moved on in January.

And Marshall’s past quotes may suggest that a switch to Hillsborough would appeal.

“I think I’ve been linked with Sheffield Wednesday in probably every transfer window,” Marshall said two years ago. “It’s nice to have that bit of interest.”

Marshall has actually impressed at Wolves, but has fallen out of favour more recently.

The 26-year-old has made just six Championship appearances this term, but last season he was a key player.

Marshall scored three goals and claimed four assists last term, when he was a regular for Wolves, and he could offer Wednesday a good outlet.

The Owls need to increase their attacking threat, if they are to push for the play offs this season, and bringing Marshall to Hillsborough would help them do that.
