With West Bromwich Albion set to drop into the Championship, wholesale changes are set to be made at the Hawthorns.
And Wednesday would be wise to attempt to convince Brunt to return to Yorkshire.
Brunt made 153 appearances for Wednesday as a youngster, before he moved to West Brom in 2007.
He has been with the Baggies ever since, but a return to Hillsborough may now appeal.
Brunt has not played as frequently for West Brom this term, as he has in previous seasons, but at Wednesday he could be a key player again.
Brunt would have the ability to play at left wing-back for Wednesday, with the position potentially needing an upgrade.
George Boyd has generally been selected at wing-back, but he isn’t a natural in the position, and he has been criticised on occasion.
Brunt, though, remains very popular at Hillsborough – and Wednesday should explore the possibility of bringing him back in the summer.
