Celtic allowed Cunningham to join Scottish Premiership rivals Dundee last August – now he’s reportedly heading to the Championship with Steve Bruce’s Owls.

Few even noticed when Michael Cunningham left Celtic last year.
The fresh-faced striker had barely troubled Brendan Rodgers’ first time after all despite some impressive performances for the reserve side and barely an eyebrow was raised north of the border when he joined Premiership rivals Dundee.
12 months on, however, Cunningham has made just one first-team appearance for The Dark Blues. But that only tells half the story.
The 18-year-old is Dundee’s top scorer at youth level and his prolific goalscoring has not gone unnoticed.
According to Herald Scotland, Sheffield Wednesday have been watching Cunningham since the turn of the year and are now very keen to lure the youngster to Hillsborough.

Wednesday believe Cunningham is a genuine future star and will invite him for a trial on Friday. Dundee, then, look set to lose arguably their most exciting young talent.
But Celtic, as well as Jim McIntyre’s side, should perhaps be wondering what might have been if Cunningham makes his move to the Steel City. Could they regret allowing this prolific young striker to walk away before even giving him a sniff of a chance?
