Tottenham Hotspur’s injury concerns may force Mauricio Pochettino into drastic measures, potentially including a recall for Josh Onomah.

Victor Wanyama, Moussa Sissoko and Dele Alli are all out injured, whilst Mousa Dembele has been sold to Guangzhou R&F this month.

That has left Spurs with a dearth of options in midfield, and with funds at a premium to sign players, it’s hard to see where Spurs will get midfield help from right now.

Pochettino has though told Football.London that he may recall midfielder Josh Onomah from his loan spell at Sheffield Wednesday, in a move which unsurprisingly hasn’t sparked much excitement.

Onomah, 21, has been sent out on loan to Wednesday for more first-team experience having also spent last season with Aston Villa.

Onomah hasn’t made much of an impact though, making just eight starts and three substitute appearances this season, picking up three assists along the way.

Onomah was once touted for stardom but now looks to have hit a wall in his development, and it’s hard to see how he will make an impact at Spurs right now.

Wednesday fans have been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, suggesting that they would happily see Onomah return to Spurs, offering to take him to North London themselves whilst generally feeling that he wouldn’t be a huge loss.
