The Owls have offered new contracts to long-serving star Jose Semedo, along with Lewis Price and Caolan Lavery.
Sheffield Wednesday have taken another step in their preparations for next season by offering new contracts to three players including long-serving midfielder Jose Semedo, as confirmed by the club on their official website.
Semedo has been with the Owls for five years since moving from Charlton Athletic, and has made 156 appearances in total during his time at the Yorkshire club.
The 31-year-old midfielder played just 16 times this season as his first campaign under compatriot Carlos Carvalhal was hampered by injury and increased competition for a starting spot.
However, the popular player has still done enough to convince Wednesday and his manager to offer him a new contract despite his bit-part role.
The Owls also confirmed on their official website that goalkeeper Lewis Price and striker Caolan Lavery have been offered fresh terms despite making just nine appearances between them in all competitions last term.
Price played just seven times and managed only five Championship appearances as the impressive form of Keiren Westwood kept him out of the side in his debut campaign at the club after joining from Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile, Lavery fell out of favour early on under Carvalhal and was loaned out to League Two side Portsmouth, where he scored four times in 13 matches.
The Sheffield Star claims that Coventry City are monitoring the striker, but for now he has an offer on the table from the Hillsborough side to mull over.
