The Owls defender, on loan from Chelsea, has become a fan favourite amongst supporters of the Championship club.

Plenty of Sheffield Wednesday fans have praised Michael Hector after the on-loan Chelsea man was named the Owls Player of the Season award at The Star Football Awards on Monday night.
The 6ft 3in centre-back has impressed for the South Yorkshire club since arriving from Stamford Bridge in August last year, with 40 club appearances under his belt according to The Star.
In the course of his career with Reading and then Chelsea, Hector has been sent on a total of fifteen loan moves at clubs in England, Scotland and Germany, but he has recently hinted towards wanting to stay at Hillsborough.
“To me it has felt like home, it has felt normal coming here and I have felt like a permanent player,” he is quoted by The Star as saying. “The banter and stuff has been good and even the staff have been really good to me.
“I would love to stay but sometimes it is not as easy as that and there are other things off the field that need to be sorted out… we’ll see what happens over the summer.”
With Wednesday rumoured to be planning to offload several players to reduce the wage bill for the sake of Financial Fair Play regulations, it remains to be seen whether the Owls can afford Chelsea’s valuation of Hector.
Nonetheless, after Wednesday’s Twitter feed announced that the Jamaica international was presented with the award, some Owls fans took to the platform and urged the club to do their utmost to get him on the books:
Wednesday, ninth in the Championship table, have just one league game remaining this season, against Queens Park Rangers at the weekend.
