Sheffield Wednesday’s Dan Wallis moved to Frickley on loan this week.

Frickley Athletic suffered a 1-0 defeat against Marine AFC on Saturday, despite the heroics of their on-loan Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Dan Wallis.
Wallis, who moved to Frickley on a month-long deal at the start of the week, was making the second appearance of his maiden spell away from Hillsborough, after Tuesday’s 5-4 win against Cleethorpes Town.
And the 19-year-old twice saved penalties from goalscorer Danny Mitchley as the West Yorkshire side – who ended the game with nine men – suffered FA Cup elimination in the second qualifying round.
Wallis signed a new one-year deal with Sheffield Wednesday at the start of the summer, and will hope to become the latest in a long line of home-grown goalkeepers to break into the Owls’ first team.
Local pair Cameron Dawson and Joe Wildsmith continue to act as Wednesday’s repective first and second choice this season.
Dawson has received criticism from a small section of fans, but impressed as Sheffield Wednesday beat Aston Villa 2-1 on Saturday.
