The Owls have had several injury issues to deal with in recent weeks.
Sheffield Wednesday’s Fernando Forestieri scores their first goal
Sheffield Wednesday boss Carlos Carvalhal believes that with just six Championship games to play, his side have essentially started all over again as he welcomes several of his injured players back into the fold, as reported by the Sheffield Star.
The Owls have welcomed back with open arms players like Ross Wallace, Tom Lees, Gary Hooper and Sam Hutchinson recently, while talisman Fernando Forestieri is set for a return on Saturday for Wednesday’s fixture against table toppers Newcastle United.
While influential midfielder Hutchinson has picked up another injury, the fact that Wednesday – who went on a four match winless run before defeating recently relegated Rotherham United 2-0 in midweek – can recall some of their star players has been a huge boost.
Carvalhal went one step further and claimed that with the players returning, the club has a chance to essentially start again in what has been an indifferent campaign in some aspects, with some claiming that perhaps Wednesday are slightly underachieving.

“It is a restart for us,” Carvalhal said, as reported by the Sheffield Star. “Our players celebrated with the fans (at Rotherham) and I think everyone understands it is a restart to us.
“We have some important players coming back. We have more options. I’m very happy with how hard the players are fighting and work. They have a fantastic attitude but we need all the players available.”

Heading into the weekend’s fixtures, Wednesday are sitting in sixth position at present – two points clear of seventh placed Fulham, but have an inferior goal difference to the Whites.
Wednesday could well start their match against Newcastle in seventh, as Fulham will take on Ipswich Town a few hours before the Owls kick off.
