Sheffield Wednesday winger Kadeem Harris has spoken highly of Owls teammate Morgan Fox, who was the apparent subject of boos ahead of Tuesday night’s 1-0 Championship win over Luton Town at Hillsborough (official Owls website).

Liam Palmer was ruled out of action prior to the game against the Hatters and Fox was drafted in his place, with some Owls fans appearing to boo his name when announced at the stadium before kickoff.

Although Fox seemed to be lacking in confidence in the first half, he improved after the interval and made a crucial intervention four minutes from time, a sliding challenge to block Luke Bolton’s strike in the box.

The Owls made it three wins from four league games, going top of the table in the process until Wednesday night at least, as Harris pounced onto Steven Fletcher’s knock-down header in the 54th minute to score the only goal of the encounter.

“When you’ve got ten other players around you doing the same thing, it’s not hard to join in,” Harris told the official Owls website after the game. “The intensity of the whole team was brilliant. I think Foxy behind me was amazing, he was talking to me the whole game and got me going, so he was a great help for me today as well as the other nine on the pitch.”

Up next for Wednesday is Saturday’s clash away at Preston North End, who are currently 18th in the Championship table with one win and two defeats from their opening three league fixtures and are also in action tonight as they host Stoke City at Deepdale.
