Sheffield Wednesday have been awarded a boost ahead of their game against Huddersfield Town as Daniel Pudil is set to feature.

Sheffield Wednesday have recovered well following their play-off final loss in May as they prepare themselves for another run at the top six. Following a solid start to the season, manager Carlos Carvalhal will be looking for the club to push on in the coming months in order to give them the best possible chance of a successful promotion push. As reported by The Star, those hopes have been boosted by the news that defender Daniel Pudil is set to feature for the clash against Huddersfield Town.

The 31-year-old hobbled off during the Owls’ 2-1 loss to Brighton & Hove Albion and fans were worried that it could see him have an extended stay on the sidelines, however Pudil himself has stated that he will be fit and ready for the game.

“I am fit and available now,” Pudil told The Star.

“I had a full session of training with the rest of the team (on Tuesday) and everything is OK now, so I should be fine and in the squad for the game on Sunday.

“I haven’t had any problems, we had some rest for a few days and we were all then working hard for a few more and I feel good so I should be OK to play, if the coach chooses me.”

Pudil also missed a number of games earlier in the season against the likes of Birmingham City and Nottingham Forest, so Owls supporters will be hoping that he can maintain a long run of fitness ahead of what is sure to be a grueling campaign.
