George Hirst scored in Belgium… on day former club Sheffield Wednesday slump to defeat.

Sheffield Wednesday slipped to defeat at Brentford yesterday as they were outplayed at Griffin Park.
The same day former striker George Hirst managed to find the scoresheet, netting his first ever goal for Belgian club OH Leuven.
Hirst was tipped to become a Sheffield Wednesday hero, after starring for their academy and scoring for England’s youth sides.
Instead he was never given a first team chance, in large part due to a dispute over signing a new contract.

He made a surprise move to Belgium this summer after his deal expired, which The Guardian has speculated could lead to a future switch to Leicester City.
Hirst seemed happy at least after his goal for Leuven in their 1-1 draw this weekend against Beerschot.
Sheffield Wednesday fans responded to the striker, with a mixture of emotions.
Some were happy for the young forward, others annoyed at the situation and events which has seen the Owls lose out…
