Lees outlined the difference in approach between past and present Sheffield Wednesday managers Carlos Carvalhal and Jos Luhukay.

Tom Lees’ assessment of Carlos Carvalhal’s approach to player recovery at Sheffield Wednesday has sparked a debate among Owls fans on Twitter.
During his two and a half years in charge at Hillsborough, Carvalhal often threw returning players straight back into his starting eleven with little or no training or match practice.

And in an interview with BBC Radio Sheffield reporter Rob Staton on Monday, Lees described Jos Luhukay’s alternative approach – one which requires players to build up their fitness over a number of weeks first – as ‘a bit of common sense’, adding that it is ‘probably for the better’.
For some Sheffield Wednesday supporters, the 27-year-old’s comments reinforced their belief that Carvalhal’s methods contributed directly towards the spate of injuries which have rocked the Owls’ campaign, although others have come out in defence of the Swansea City manager.

Here’s what they’re saying on Twitter…
Since succeeding Carvalhal as manager in January, Luhukay has remained without the services of Keiren Westwood, Joost van Aken, Kieran Lee, Fernando Forestieri, Gary Hooper and Steven Fletcher, while Lees, Barry Bannan and Sam Hutchinson only returned to contention earlier this month.
