The Chelsea-owned defender was just named player of the season at Sheffield Wednesday, who Fulham will face next season.
Just days after playing the final game of his Sheffield Wednesday loan spell, Michael Hector is already attracting interest, according to The Sun. The newspaper reports that newly-relegated Fulham are ‘eyeing up a move’ for the Chelsea centre-back, who was recently named Wednesday’s player of the season.
Unsurprisingly, many of a Sheffield Wednesday persuasion – including the Owls boss, Steve Bruce – are keen for Hector to return to Hillsborough next season.
But with finances again expected to be tight this summer, and Fulham likely to be operating at the other end of the scale on receipt of their first batch of Premier League parachute payments, some Wednesday supporters are fearing the worst.
Hector is in the final year of his Chelsea contract, entitling the Blues to command a fee for the Jamaica international they paid Reading around £5 million to sign four years ago, according to Transfermarkt.
Bruce has told Sheffield Wednesday’s official website he is targeting ‘five or six fresh faces’ in the summer transfer window.
