And Owls fans are hopeful that a deal could be done, although there is scepticism over whether a transfer deal would be affordable.
Lazaar has endured a miserable time at Newcastle since joining back in 2016, but he is proving his worth at Wednesday.
The left-back has immediately come into Steve Bruce’s squad and been a huge improvement.
Wednesday have been in wonderful form of late, and keeping Lazaar around would be a big boost to their chances of kicking on again next season.
The Owls still have an outside chance of making the play offs this term, and if they were promoted to the Premier League, then any concerns over Lazaar’s affordability would surely disappear.
