Sheffield Wednesday fans react to Marco Matias display against Wigan

Sheffield Wednesday won against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.

Sheffield Wednesday fans have taken to Twitter to give their reaction to the performance of Marco Matias against Wigan Athletic.

Matias featured for Wednesday in their Championship game against Wigan at the Hillsborough Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The 29-year-old forward started the match and played for 61 minutes, as the Owls won 1-0.

According to WhoScored, the Portuguese had a pass accuracy of 64.3%, and made two tackles.

Matias started the match against Wigan well and looked lively, but he struggled to make an impact as the game wore on and was understandably substituted in the second half.

Wednesday fans were not impressed with the performance of Matias against the Latics and have criticised him on Twitter.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Hillsborough Stadium on Saturday afternoon, hosts Wednesday had 49% of the possession, took 21 shots of which eight were on target, and earned nine corners, according to BBC Sport.

The win against Wigan means that the Owls are now 16th in the Championship table with 35 points from 28 matches.
