The Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper has been relegated to second choice this season.

Joe Wildsmith appears to have done his chances of a Sheffield Wednesday recall few favours.
The Sheffield Wednesday number two was part of the Owls Under-23s side that lost 4-2 to Burnley at Middlewood Road on Monday, and had his role in three of those Clarets’ goals questioned afterwards.
Jos Luhukay’s team have failed to keep a single Championship clean sheet this season, which began with Wildsmith surrendering his place to Cameron Dawson.
And while Dawson has shouldered much of the blame for Wednesday’s defensive shortcomings, the overlooking of Keiren Westwood, the experienced former Owls number one, has not helped matters.

Amid frequent pleas for Westwood’s return, some fans have also called for Andy Rhodes’ reinstatement as goalkeeper coach, following the 54-year-old’s sacking as Oldham’s assistant manager four months after his exit from Hillsborough.
And this is what they’re saying after Wildsmith’s calamitous afternoon…
